Plug
Ecommerce Catalog Merchandising Manager
About Plug

With 8M+ followers across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube, we have built one of the largest and most engaged communities in tech. New York Times Wirecutter Best Experience. Responsible Recycler certified. Over one million pounds of e-waste diverted. We are not just a brand. We are a movement, and we are just getting started.
How We Work
Plug runs on ownership. We move fast, expect a lot, and give people the autonomy to match. No politics. No hand-holding. No ambiguity about what winning looks like. Every person here operates with a founder mindset: clear on the goal, accountable for the outcome, proud of the work.
If you want a front-row seat to building something that matters, this is the place. If you want a job where someone tells you exactly what to do every day, this isn't it.
The Role
Plug is growing fast and the catalog behind our business needs to keep up. We are looking for an Ecommerce Catalog Merchandising Manager to own the product listing experience across every channel where Plug shows up.
You will manage a catalog of 3,000+ active SKUs across device models, cosmetic grades, storage configurations, and channels. Clean, accurate, on-brand listings. Smart collection management that moves inventory. A process-oriented mindset that scales with us.
You are the bridge between supply chain (what we have) and marketing (how we sell it). If you look at a product page and immediately see what's missing, what's inconsistent, or what's costing conversions: we want to hear from you.
What You'll Own
- Own end-to-end product listing workflow: creation, optimization, ongoing audit across all platforms.
- Manage 3,000+ SKUs across models, grades, storage tiers, colors.
- Maintain catalog data integrity: titles, descriptions, specs, pricing, imagery.
- Write and optimize product titles, descriptions, and meta for SEO.
- Manage Shopify taxonomy, collections, and tags for navigation and search.
- Coordinate daily with Inventory and Supply Chain so the catalog reflects reality.
- Coordinate with the content team on photography for new SKU launches.
- Resolve listing errors, suppressions, and compliance flags proactively.
- Manage bulk uploads, data cleanup, and SKU migration projects.
- Analyze CTR, conversion, and search ranking: translate data into action.
- Build and enforce catalog SOPs and data governance.
- Sync catalog data across Shopify and additional channels as we expand.
- Run competitive listing audits.
- Manage on-site reviews and ratings.
What You Need
- 3+ years managing product catalogs on Shopify, Amazon, Walmart, or comparable.
- Track record managing 500+ SKUs with high accuracy.
- SEO and keyword research applied to product content.
- Strong copywriting for titles, descriptions, specs.
- Excel / Sheets fluency for bulk data work.
- Working knowledge of GA4 or similar.
- Project management across multiple teams and deadlines.
Strong Advantage
- PIM systems experience.
- Consumer electronics, CPO, or tech retail.
- Social commerce listings experience.
- Documented track record of building repeatable processes.
You'll Hate This Job If…
- You want someone else to define the SKU naming convention for you.
- Spreadsheets bore you.
- You can't context-switch between writing copy and reconciling pricing data in the same hour.
- You think catalog work is beneath strategy.
The Bottom Line
We are not looking for someone to maintain the status quo. We are looking for someone who sees what's broken before anyone else does and builds the fix. One wrong price or one wrong image costs real money.
